We were planning on staying at this hotel on Ambergris Caye, but do to poor communication we ended up staying elswhere. Before our trip I contacted Martha Guerrero Perez, owner and operator of the hotel, and made a reservation. I confirmed this reservation with a credit card via email, as requested, and assumed that it was complete. When we arrived at the hotel we were surprised to see a very run-down establishment. Martha told me that she remembers my reservation, but threw it away for some reason because of computer problems. Even though we didn’t have a reservation she had two rooms available. We looked at the rooms and found them to be relatively dirty and poorly ventilated (no A/C and one of the windows didn’t even open). Since we were not bound by a deposit we decided to stay elsewhere (at a higher cost). I would not recommend this hotel to a fellow traveler/backpacker.
