With Mother’s Day, graduations, and weddings happening this month, I’ve found some good deals that will not only give you gift ideas, but help you earn miles in the process. There are also a few regular point-to-point offers.
Continental
Here’s an interesting idea for the newlywed couple or the graduate this spring: a gift account. Through June 30, you can earn 500 bonus miles with the initial $25 deposit.
Delta
You can earn up to 1,000 bonus miles with SkyMilesShopping.com. Through June 17, if your total purchase meets or exceeds $500, you’ll earn 1,000 bonus miles. At least $350 gets you 700 bonus miles, and $250 is worth 300 miles.
During the month of May, Delta is waiving its $25 mile transfer fee, so the only thing you have to pay is $0.01 per mile. You can also now receive double the number of miles (now up to 300,000) from friends or family. Any individual account is still limited to transferring out no more than 150,000 miles per calendar year.
Frontier
To celebrate its win in the Freddie Awards for “Program of the Year,” Frontier is offering a 1,000 mile booking bonus for all tickets purchased online by June 14 for travel through November 14.
Midwest
You can earn up to 5,000 bonus miles with Midwest’s “Miles for Meals” program through June 30. For every meal costing at least $25 at participating restaurants, you’ll earn 250 bonus miles (with a total maximum allowed of 5,000 miles). You must be a registered member of the dining program to earn the bonuses. The 250-mile bonus per meal is in addition to any miles you normally earn as a member.
Northwest
You can earn double miles on Northwest’s newest route, between Denver and Indianapolis. Flights begin June 7, and you can earn the bonus an unlimited number of times through August 20. You must register prior to travel.
United
Through October 31, you can earn 500 bonus miles when you book your Hertz rental car online at United.com. You can also earn 250 bonus miles by booking with Avis or Budget. To earn the miles in all three promotions, you must also complete the rental.
